About Us 關於本會
Hong Kong Institution of Highways and Transportation (HKIHT) was formally established by the Founding President the late Mr. H. S. Kwong in 1999. Since then, HKIHT has become a learned society comprising professional practitioners and academics from highway engineering and transportation fields of Hong Kong S.A.R., which has strong connection with fellow organizations in Mainland China and Macao S.A.R.
HKIHT regularly organizes technical conferences, delegations and construction site visits. The Institution played an advisory role in public engagement of major infrastructure projects in Hong Kong.
The Council, consisting of a large spectrum of professional practitioners and academics, is responsible to overseas the institutional affairs. In the 2019 council session, committees are restructured to formulate action plans that enhance the operation of the Institution in fulfilling its Vision and Mission.
The aims of the committees are as follows:

• Membership – review membership structure, qualifications and evaluate membership application.
