Who is eligible to join?

 

HKIHT Membership is open to anyone working in highways and transportation. Many of its members are professionally qualified engineers, such as Corporate Membership of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, Registered Professional Engineers of Hong Kong and Chartered Engineers of the U.K. As an integrated multi-modal organization, HKIHT membership are formed from a wide range of discipline including:

 

  • Transportation Planners

  • Highway and Traffic Engineers

  • Consultants (Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Environmental)

  • Contractors and Suppliers

  • Road Safety Practitioners

  • Other related fields such as landscape architects

 

Membership Certificate

 

A certificate will be sent to all new members.  This confirms the date of election and membership grade. A membership number will be allocated to each member of HKIHT.

  • Professional development through a program of technical visits, presentations and low cost seminars on topical issues.

  • Networking opportunities at regional and national social and technical events and meetings.

​Notes:

1: Student membership is valid for the entire undergraduate studies. A four-year free subscription covers the typical duration of full-time studies. If the undergraduate programme lasts more than four years, a HKD 100 subscription fee applies. After completing their studies, members must convert to Graduate Member status or their membership lapses.

2: Members are required to pay the Entrance Fee once upon joining the Institution. While Graduate and Student members pay a discounted Entrance Fee, they are required to pay a Transfer Fee covering the difference in Entrance Fees when transferred to other membership classes (e.g. HKD 300 for Graduate to Fellow/Member/Associate; HKD 200 for Student to Graduate; HKD 500 for Student to Member/Associate).
