On 22 August 2026, the Young Committee of the Hong Kong Institution of Highways and Transportation (HKIHT YC), together with ICE HKA G&S, IMechE HKB and HKIE YMC, organized a technical visit to the T9 contract section of the Shiziyang Passageway Project. The visit was coordinated by the Guangdong Provincial Highway Society, with support from Guangdong Bay Area Transportation Infrastructure Investment Co., Ltd., CCCC Highway Consultants Co., Ltd. and Poly Changda Engineering Co., Ltd. HKIHT Secretary-General Ir Ken Lui joined the 45-member delegation, which comprised representatives and young engineers from the four institutions.

During the visit, participants attended a project briefing, viewed construction demonstration videos, and visited the smart construction exhibition hall and bridge construction site. The delegation gained first-hand insights into the design and construction of the Shiziyang Bridge, one of the key engineering elements of the approximately 35-km-long Shiziyang Passageway. With a main span of 2,180 m, the bridge is designed as a double-deck steel truss girder suspension bridge carrying a total of 16 traffic lanes.

The project team briefed the delegation the construction of 342-metre steel-concrete composite main tower, the use of C80 high-strength concrete, temperature and crack control for mass concrete, fabrication, erection of steel structures with stringent precision control, and intelligent structural monitoring. The project team and the delegation also exchanged views on construction planning, major construction risks, safety management of large lifting equipment and smart construction technologies.

The visit provided Hong Kong young engineers with valuable exposure to large-scale bridge engineering and smart construction practices in Mainland China, while further strengthening professional exchange between the engineering communities of Hong Kong and Guangdong. HKIHT will continue to provide a professional platform and facilitate technical knowledge exchange, young engineer development and the sharing of engineering experience.

2026 年 8 月 22 日，香港公路及運輸學會青年委員會聯同英國土木工程師學會香港協會畢業生及學生組、英國機械工程師學會香港分部及香港工程師學會青年會員事務委員會，組織青年工程師參觀獅子洋通道項目 T9 合同段。本次活動由廣東省公路學會協調，並獲廣東灣區交通建設投資有限公司、中交公路規劃設計院有限公司及保利長大工程有限公司支援。香港公路及運輸學會秘書長呂浩元工程師亦參與是次考察，代表團共 45 人。

考察期間，代表團聽取專案介紹、觀看施工演示視頻，並參觀智慧建造展廳及橋樑施工現場，深入瞭解全長約 35 公里的獅子洋通道及其中一項重點工程——獅子洋大橋。獅子洋大橋主跨達 2,180 米，採用雙層鋼桁梁懸索橋方案，上下兩層共設置 16 條行車線。

專案團隊重點介紹了 342 米高鋼—混凝土組合主塔、C80 高強混凝土、大體積混凝土溫控防裂、鋼結構製造及安裝精度控制、結構智慧監測等關鍵工程技術。雙方亦就超大跨懸索橋施工組織、重大施工階段風險管理、大型起重設備安全管理及智慧建造技術進行了交流。

本次考察加深了香港青年工程師對內地大型橋樑工程、施工組織及智慧建造實踐的認識，並進一步促進粵港兩地工程界的專業交流。香港公路及運輸學會將繼續發揮專業平臺作用，推動技術交流、青年工程師發展及工程經驗分享。
