HKIHT Signs Memoranda of Understanding with the China Highway and Transportation Society and the Shanghai Highway and Transportation Society
香港公路及運輸學會分別與中國公路學會、上海市公路學會簽署合作備忘錄
From 21 to 22 April 2026, a delegation of the Hong Kong Institution of Highways and Transportation, led by President Ir Alfred Leung, visited Beijing and Shanghai respectively to meet with the China Highway and Transportation Society (CHTS) and the Shanghai Highway and Transportation Society (SHTS). During the visits, HKIHT signed Memoranda of Understanding with both societies to further strengthen professional exchange and cooperation in the fields of highway engineering and transportation.
On 21 April, the delegation visited CHTS in Beijing. Both sides exchanged views on their recent priorities, development directions and potential areas for future collaboration. HKIHT and CHTS then formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding, agreeing to strengthen cooperation in academic exchange, professional training, mutual visits, youth talent development, science popularisation and the promotion of technological achievements. The two sides will also explore mechanisms for membership services, annual cooperation plans and joint meetings to support more sustained and practical collaboration.
On 22 April, the delegation visited SHTS in Shanghai. Both sides exchanged views on institutional work, major academic activities in 2026 and the content of the Memorandum of Understanding. A dedicated discussion was also held on the proposed “2026 Shanghai-Hong Kong-Ningbo Transport Technology Forum (2026滬港甬交通科技論壇)”, including possible themes, speakers and event format. Following the meeting, HKIHT and SHTS signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a cooperation framework covering academic and training exchange, joint professional activities, talent development, science communication and technology promotion.
The visits to Beijing and Shanghai mark an important step in HKIHT’s continued efforts to deepen collaboration with professional institutions in Mainland China. Looking ahead, HKIHT will continue to serve as a professional platform connecting Hong Kong, the Mainland and the international community, and will work with its partners to promote practical cooperation, technical exchange, talent development and industry innovation in the highways and transportation sector.
2026 年 4 月 21 日至 22 日，香港公路及運輸學會代表團在會長梁偉豪工程師帶領下，先後到訪北京及上海，分別拜訪中國公路學會和上海市公路學會，並與兩會簽署合作備忘錄，進一步深化香港與內地在公路工程及交通運輸領域的交流合作。
4 月 21 日，代表團到訪中國公路學會，雙方介紹了近期重點工作及發展方向，並就未來合作領域進行座談交流。隨後，香港公路及運輸學會與中國公路學會正式簽署合作備忘錄。雙方同意在學術交流、專業培訓、互訪活動、青年人才發展、科普及科技成果推廣等方面加強合作，並探索會員服務銜接、年度合作計畫及聯席會議等機制，推動合作更具延續性和實效性。
4 月 22 日，代表團到訪上海市公路學會。雙方圍繞學會工作、2026 年重點學術活動及合作備忘錄內容進行交流，並就“2026 滬港甬交通科技論壇”的主題、嘉賓推薦及活動形式等展開專題研討。會後，雙方簽署合作備忘錄，確立在學術及培訓交流、聯合專業活動、人才培養、科普交流及科技成果推廣等方面的合作框架。
此次北京及上海之行，是香港公路及運輸學會加強與內地專業機構聯繫的重要一步。未來，學會將繼續發揮香港連接內地與國際的專業平臺作用，推動更多務實合作項目落地，促進公路及交通運輸領域的技術交流、人才發展及行業創新。
